Since the commencement of the "Kwu Tung North/ Fanling North New Development Area" project in 2019, the project team have been committed to the principle of "Co-existence of Development and Conservation" of the Northern Metropolis and actively strengthened connections with surrounding communities and villages. Between March and April 2025 and from April to May 2024, the project team, in collaboration with Fullness Social Enterprise Society (FSES) and wePaint, organized two phases of community inclusive mural painting programme. Along with adding a vibrant photo spots to the Fanling North Community Liaison Centre, the programme also promoted harmony across generations and the community, providing every participant with the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents.
Both phases of the programme attracted over 100 community members, including elders, individuals with special educational needs (SEN) as well as primary and secondary school students, all gathered to create murals on the exterior wall of the Fanling North Community Liaison Centre. The murals depicted various landmarks rich in local cultural characteristics, illustrating how participants see Fanling through their brushes and colours. Notably, the mural segment featuring the Lung Yeuk Tau Pai Lau, which holds strong historical and cultural significance, was completed in July 2025 by Mr. TANG Kun-nin, Tony, MH, Villagers’ Representative of Lung Yeuk Tau, symbolizing the integration and continuity between new developments and traditional communities.
